Plot

In this series — which is partly inspired by the movie Private Benjamin and the TV series of the same name, as well as a two-part Laverne & Shirley episode, "You're In The Army Now," that aired on November 15, 1979 — best friends Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney are enlisted in the U.S. Army and often get involved in clandestine escapades with their immediate superior, an anthropomorphic pig named Sgt. Squealy (voiced by Ron Palillo) who is always threatening to report them to his superior, Sgt. Turnbuckle (voiced by Kenneth Mars). All usually turns out well for the girls.

The characters of this show also appeared in the subsequent series The Mork & Mindy / Laverne & Shirley / Fonz Hour.
